Senior Environmental Engineer
Central (Singapore)
Responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of Job:
The MWH Singapore is looking to augment its staff with an energetic Environmental Engineer / Senior Environmental Engineer who will work with our team of environmental, safety and health (EHS) specialists serving industrial and government clients in Singapore and South East Asia. Our team of EHS specialists offers clients expertise in EHS assessment and planning, compliance assurance, transaction due diligence, land remediation / restoration, environmental protection and management and sustainable development. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a team environment and to take on increasing responsibility as ability allows.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform activities such as multi-media environmental samples collection, environmental impact assessments, pollution control studies, compliance audits, Phase I / II environmental site assessments, historical land use surveys and remediation system pilot studies.
- Perform scientific research and investigations as required in specialist technical areas: assessment of environmental effects, water resource management, hydrology, contaminated sites, solid waste management, developing environmental management systems.
- Supervision of junior staff and/or contractors in tasks/project execution.
- Prepare proposals, reports, and presentations as required.
- Assist with business development as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following applicable environmental, health and safety policies and regulations.
- Degree in Engineering or related degree from a recognised institution;
- Preferably minimum 6 years direct environmental experience in an environmental consultant company for Senior Environmental Engineer;
- Knowledgeable of EHS regulations in the South East Asia region, ASTM Standards for environmental site assessments, environmental impact assessments, pollution control studies, quantitative risk assessments, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 will be of advantage;
- Registered WSHMS auditor, risk consultant or equivalent will be of advantage;
- Excellent organisational, technical, data interpretation, written and verbal communication skills, team player and computer competency;
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Should understand quality control functions for the production of high-quality deliverables to our clients.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines; and
- Willing to undertake business travel in the South East Asia region.
